First event appurtenant to the ŠPERKSTRET 2010 will be:

*SEGMENT/Half century of Slovak contemporary jewellery
The SEGMENT exhibition presents the selection of works by authors that have formed Slovak jewellery up to date and those, who established Slovak contemporary jewellery as a creative art in European context.

*10.00 StossimHimmel / Stoss im Himmel (AT)
Group Stoss im Himmel was founded in 1996 when five Austrian jewellers joined their efforts and opened their studio for public. Their activities often exceed the usual jewellery borders. These days, the members are Birgit Wie, Caroline Ertl, Eva Tesarik and Max Grün who were the original founders. Since 2009, Viktoria Münzker and Michelle Kraemer have been a part of the group.

*11.00 Marc Monzó Jewelry / Marc Monzo (SP)
Jeweller and designer Marc Monzó studied at Escola Massana in Barcelona. His creations are known for his fresh and playful approach to the form and function of the created object.

*12.00 20 years / Karol Weisslechner (SK)
Architect and jeweller prof. Karol Weisslechner will present twenty years of Metal and Jewellery studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

*14.00 Hommage and Erna Masarovicova / Kata Kissoczy (SK/CZ)
“Czechoslovak” artist. Her works are crossover between various visual art fields, such as: design, sculpture, installations, stenography etc. She will present her new project - sculpture / jewellery symposium Hommage

*15.00 Jewellery as Ornament Today / Daniel Kruger (D)
Artist, jeweller Daniel Kruger is the head of the jewellery studio at the University for Art and Design, in Halle. Much of his inspiration is from historical and ethnic sources. He was recognized with awards and respect worldwide for his contributions to contemporary jewellery.

*16.00 Brave New World / Katja Prins (NL)
Artist, jeweller Katja Prins studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Her well known work is inspired by the (intimate) relationship between human bodies and mechanic devices, (medical) technology and industry.

*10.00 The Reality is a Net / Leo Cabellero (SP)
Founder and publisher of most important contemporary online jewellery portal Klimt02. He studied jewellery and design at Escola Elisava in Barcelona. Since 2001, he has run Klimt02 together with his colleague Amador Bertomeu. Since 2007, they have also opened real gallery of contemporary jewel Klimt in Barcelona.

*11.00 La passion des évidences / Nedda El-Asmar (BL)
She studied jewellery design and silversmithing at the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp, and she completed her education at the Royal College of Art in London. She was awarded as the “Belgian Designer of 2007”. Since 2007, she has also been teaching at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

*12.00 ...last few years / Martin Papcún (CZ)
Jeweller, sculptor Martin Papcún studied in metal and jewellery studio at the Academy of Art, Design and Architecture in Prague. Besides his permanent work and exhibitions, he is currently studying at the Academy of fine arts in Munich under the lead of professor Otto Künzli. He utilizes sculpture and architectural approaches in his jewellery creations

*14.00 Out of Africa / Felix Stussi (D)
Jeweller, anthropologist, organiser. Felix Stussi studied jewellery and ornamental design, but also cultural Anthropology. He took part in extensive travels in Africa (Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa and Cameroon). He organizes the annual summer workshops and the Annual International Symposium for Ornament makers in Switzerland.

*15.00 Story as an essence of jewellery / Karel Vratislav Novak (CZ)
Czech artist who have been a longtime Head of the Sculpture Studio, specialized in metal and jewellery, at The Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. Since 2009, he has been the head of The Metal and Jewellery Department at the University of Plzeň. His method of creating the art is very loose and it is difficult to fit it into any category. His work contains installations, kinetic objects, architecture objects, photography, jewellery etc.

*16.00 The Extension Impulse / Ursula Guttmann (AT)
She studied at The Textile Department at the University of Art and Design in Linz. She also studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Since 2000, she has had her own studio in Linz. She is inspired by organic forms, and often transfers it to her creations through the unexpected materials.
